I still don't really understand how everything works around here, but the fact that casting my thoughts (i.e. screaming) into the void still works is a good sign!
Quickly: I almost typed the title as "dimensia" and doesn't that sound exciting? What could it mean! Like I would want to have dimensia, maybe, wouldn't you? whereas dementia is just horrible and sad.
Aside: In my last post, I added extra returns (spaces) between each paragraph because that's what I'm used to doing for readability, but actually there's a built-in formatting here that, hate it though I generally do (esp. when certain websites and places--ahem Confluence--tinker with a font's kerning so that you get embarrassing things like "clicked" looking like...well... HA!), I'm enjoying the look of things here!
I'm resisting the urge to hit return twice is all I meant to say.
The original purpose of this post:
Yesterday I was stuck in a cycle of rumination on all my faults and the idiotic time-wasting of a Bad Meeting at Work (not my fault) until I gave up and did fun stuff that made me feel better.
I then remembered a podcast episode which discussed how dementia risk is lowered by increasing/maintaining challenging mental activities, social connections, and physical activity.
Did a lil' eye test of where I stand. Got the challenging mental activities all right. Got the bare minimum of social connections that a hermit like me can stand. And then comes the last part, buckle yourself in, lots of nodding to myself and walking back and forth and saying, "Well, that won't do! That won't do!"
And today I ordered a rowing machine lmao.
